Traveling round-the-World (RTW)

In the summer of 2017, I was able to travel around the world with my family. We wanted to connect with the countries where I and my sisters have our ancestries, as all three of us were adopted. We visited:

  • USA: New York City
  • Cuba: Havana, Trinidad, & Viñales
  • Italy: Milan, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, & Rome
  • France: Paris
  • UAE: Dubai
  • Nepal: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Chisapani, & Nagarkot
  • Japan: Tokyo, Kyoto, & Hiroshima

This was significant for me because, although I have been able to travel before, I have never been able to get involved with places, people, and cultures to the same degree. It gave me a dramatically different perspective on the things that are important to people, how they relate to one another, and how they make their way in the world. This trip also helped make me a more engaged person when I'm with new people and situations.

The galleries below include photos from each of the places that we visited. I've picked photos that I thought were particular significant because they showed me things that I simply wouldn't have experience had I spent my entire life in Salt Lake City.
